Getting the News was Risky Business in 2007
A media watchdog group said yesterday that 64 journalists in 17 countries have died while covering the news. Most of the deaths—31—occurred in Iraq, which leads the list for the fifth year. "Working as a journalist in Iraq remains one of the most dangerous jobs on the planet," said a spokesman for the Committee to Protect Journalists. •Source: newser.com
This is startling but perhaps not surprising. When aggression and war are major exports from America, these things spread like a meme. Visualize peace might be a start, but cold comfort to reporters in the field.
