Ego Can Push You Into Spyware Maze
The malicious widget, called "Secret Crush" first appears as a Facebook request...
In opening the request, the recipient is informed that one of his/her friends has invited him/her to find out more information by using "Secret Crush" (this happens frequently with Facebook's Platform Application)... On first glance, it does seem like the friend who has sent the notification is the one having a "crush" on the targeted user. This is actually not the case, as discussed further below.Source: net-security.org
Some of us are lonely people of a certain age who are working all day long. When we get a stupid email invitation like the "Secret Crush" we brush it off at first. Then we might return to it, just to take a break from real work. How cruel to be ensnared in adware/spyware this way. I got this very invite I think, but it didn't do anything on my Mac. Exploiting the vulnerable is such a human thing, yet so deplorable.
