Twelve days post-knee surgery
The knee movie (below) is pretty graphic, especially because I shot it before I put on any lipstick. My cat helper gets into the video, and we check out the incision. I walked lots yesterday, and the knee was kind of sore last night, but it feels good today. I need to go to the garden store later, so that will be my excursion for the day. The raccoons are menacing one of the ponds, and they/it (?) keeps knocking over my plants. To fix this, someone, traditionally me, has to kneel down, and reach into the water, which is about 26" deep. Then you need to get the muck that spilled out of the plant containers and put it back into the pots. Most of the plants need to have big rocks added to the post to keep them upright underwater.
I like to do that, or at least view it as part of being a pond-keeper. Needless to say, I can't kneel these days and neither my son nor husband want to touch the muck. There are these net baskets that you can buy. You weigh them down with a couple of rocks, add the plants and muck, and the raccoons end up with nothing to tip over. The water lillies are in one of these containers.
