Stop unwanted catalogs. Save the environment.
I have reduced junk mail by opting out of junk mail. All of a sudden this holiday season, I began to get about five catalogs per day. Thanks to NPR and Catalog Choice I am opting out of catalog delivery now. Since the companies spend about .80 on each catalog, they should be happy to stop sending them. My post office worker will be happy, too.
I don't know about you, but I'm battening down the buying hatches because my internal financial barometer is starting to feel like it did in the mid 70's when the interest rate on our home mortgage was 11.75% (no, young readers, that is NOT a misprint.) Anyway, if you want to get fewer catalogs, listen and click.

Gidday,
You know I love catalogs at this time of year but only my favorites, like REI and Lands End Kids, Scientific, Lego, Sierra Trading Post, etc... but that is all I get unless I order online for something else.
But don't forget that we also receive postal junk mail from other direct mail companies such as banks, credit card companies, airlines, insurance companies, book clubs magazines, newspapers, non-profits and many other companies you are affiliated with in some way. Have you thought about who else may share or sell your private information over and over again? Catalogs are but just a small piece of this puzzle.
At www.stopthejunkmail.com we have been helping consumers protect their privacy now for 6 years, since 2001.
